の部分は、
「目がさめると、灰色の壁に囲まれた部屋にいる自分。
そうか、夢を見ていたんだ。
自分の廻りには、守衛に、年老いた神父。やがて死刑の時刻がやってくる・・・・」
と、自分なりに極端な意訳をしてみた。
この歌の背景は、死刑囚が詠んだ歌なんだ・・・・
というような事を昔、誰か言っていたような記憶がある。おぼろげだが・・・
どなたか、この歌にまつわる背景を知っておられる方、是非、ご教示願いたい。
もし、そのような悲しい背景がある歌なら、例えば、
飲み屋で知り合った外国人に、カラオケでこの歌を歌ってくれ・・・というのは、
時と場合によっては、あまりいいことではない場合もあるのではないだろうか。

というイメージは、原詩のほんの一部だということにならないか。
それにしてもこの歌は、私の好きな歌である。
