| Ⅰ.「機（はた）結び」 織り物には欠かせない結び方。結び目が小さく、目立たない。バショウなど、細く、裂きにくい繊維は績むより機結びで繋ぎ合わせることが多い。 Weaving knot. Important method for weavers.The knot is small。It is used to joint thin fiber wich is difficult to split, like that of basho,for example. |
 １．両手に一本ずつ糸を持ち、左手側の糸を上にして交叉させる。 Two strands are held in both hands and crossed, placeing the left one over the right one. |

| Ⅱ.「葛結び」 葛糸を繋ぐのに使われてきました。2本の結び端が同じ方向へ倒れるのが特徴。 This method has been used for jointing arrowroot fobers.Its advantage is the two ends go in the same direction,which is convenient for threading, and other weaving processes . |
 １．2本の糸(a)、(b)を左手の親指と人差し指で持つ。 Two strands of arrowrot fiber are held by the left thumb and the forefinger. |
